PARIS: Air France will cut up to 2,600 jobs by next year, a leading union said Wednesday, as part of a wide-ranging restructuring drive that has already seen thousands take voluntary redundancy.
The airline has been struggling to cope with the rise of low-cost airlines and competition from Middle Eastern and Asian carriers.
Didier Fauverte, head of the company's CGT union branch, said management had broken the news to employee representatives at a works council meeting Wednesday.
