The company says that it's planning to create 5,000 more jobs, and has already started hiring 2,000 new employees for fulfillment centers around the country.

Amazon is looking to hire thousands of new workers, the company announced on Monday.
Amazon plans to hire over 5,000 new workers in the U.S. to work within its fulfillment centers, handling and processing customer orders. It's already in the process of hiring 2,000 new workers in addition to that figure to help with its fulfillment needs.
The timing on Amazon's announcement is by no means coincidental. President Obama will be visiting an Amazon fulfillment center in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Tuesday to discuss jobs.According to Amazon, all of the jobs are full-time, and it claims to pay its employees in those facilities 30 percent more than what they'd make in traditional retail stores. The compensation package for fulfillment center workers includes benefits, stock awards, and bonuses, the company says.
Amazon, which currently employs 20,000 people in its fulfillment centers around the U.S., is hiring now.
