Migraine can be persistent and is normally triggered by certain situations that are not in your control. It can put you off track till you take your medication. Have you tried yoga? 


Try these yoga poses to reduce the frequency and intensity of a migraine attack.

What is a migraine?
A migraine is a common type of headache that may be accompanied with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or sensitivity to light. Many people feel a throbbing pain only on one side of the head. In extreme cases of migraine attacks, some people experience a warning symptom called an aura, before the headache. An aura is a warning, usually in the form of disturbances in vision.
 
Symptoms of migraine:

- Irritability, depression and excitement
- Lack of sleep
- Acute or throbbing pain on one or both temples of the head
- Noise, smell or light triggers can worsen the headache leading to a migraine.
- A feeling of numbness or tingling in one or both sides of the head

Yoga for migraine:

Focus on your breathing while engaging in these yoga exercises, it is the key to controlling and reducing your migraine. Also maintain a good posture, this will help you reduce migraine attacks.

1) Downward Dog - This is an inverted V
2) Happy Baby - Lie on your back and hold your feet
3) Standing Forward - Stand straight, legs together and bend forward try to touch your feet
4) Child's Pose
5) Pranayama - It is a simple breathing exercise. Sit crossed legged on the floor or in a lotus pose. Inhale and pull in your abdomen, now exhale and relax your stomach.

You can also practice neck and shoulder exercises, since migraines are caused due to stress in the mind and body. Straighten your back while you perform sitting exercises - it will align your back, spine, improves breathing and clams you down
