A plain black shirt never fails: Sidharth Malhotra
Fashion to me is
An expression of your personality.
One word that describes me best
Thoughtful.
My style mantra
Not flashy. Not loud. In one word 'simple'.
One thing that makes me feel sexy
A good conversation.
Five essentials of a man's wardrobe
A pair of blue jeans, white tee, formal shoes, a jacket and a tuxedo.
Three things that I never leave home without
Watch, sunglasses and shoes.
A priceless possession I'll never give away
My grandfather's pocket watch gifted to me by my grandmum. I was too intrigued by it as a child. It's too heavy to be carried daily. It isn't practical. Yet, I absolutely love it.
My ideal outfit for
A fun party: Denims and a V-neck tee.
A formal work setting: Khaki coloured pants and a striped shirt.
A hot date: Depends on the weather. But I'd prefer a simple shirt paired with jeans.
My shopping strategy
Do not judge by brands or pricing. Opt for cool stuff you think you'll look great in. Keep the season in mind while shopping for apparel and shoes.
One valuable grooming tip for men
Keep your nails trimmed and clean. Go for a spa service once in a while. It's good to pamper yourself.
A style trick that never fails
A classic plain black shirt. It can never go wrong.
My favourite fashion trend
Keeps changing. Currently it's layering.
My brand fixation
I do not stick to a particular brand.
Essential pairs of shoes every man must possess
A pair of funky converse, keds, formal shoes and moccasins.
My fashion icon
It's Big B ( Amitabh Bachchan), undoubtedly. It's amazing how he carries cool jackets and trench coats at his age. As a teen, I was also inspired by Milind Soman and Arjun Rampal for their sense of style.
A perfume I swear by
Fierce by Abercrombie and Fitch.
A colour that dominates my wardrobe
Blue.
Most preferred fashion destinations
Paris. You can find cool stuff even in smaller shops and corners. You do not need to visit big showrooms to shop for hip clothing. And the best thing is that you won't even spot someone else wearing the same piece of clothing.
If I had to spend my whole life wearing just one kind of outfit, it would be
Gym wear. It's something I feel extremely comfortable in.
I committed a fashion blunder
When I was in Delhi, before I started modelling. I tried to ape Michael Jackson by pairing black shoes with white socks. I learnt that this combination is a complete no-no for men
!
