How to talk to your kids about sex
Yes, you can put off with that sex talk until your baby reaches a certain age but someday, as a a parent, you'll have to face the question, "But mom, where does a baby come from".
Here's how to answer your child's sex queries without without much difficulty
Understsand his/her question: Exactly understand what your child is actually asking you. It may happen that your child wants to know something else and you're answering a completely different question. Asking a question or two before you provide answers will help you know whether your child already knows something about it and whether what he/she knows is right. You'll be surprised to know that he/she has already learnt some information from his/her friends or siblings.
Use the right kind of language: Children have wonderful grasping power and if you tend to use language that's inappropriate for your child's age, he/she might grasp it and talk in a similar language to his/her friends when talking about the issue. Use a language that is extremely decent and easy to understand so that your child isn't confused or shocked knowing what you've just said.
Shhh... it's a secret: Your child is likely to tell his friends what he/she has learned from you . So see to it that you make your child understand that he/she should not share this information with anyone without your permission and that if he/she does so, it won't really make you happy. This is in case you have divulged detailed information about you and your spouse. Do not agonize over it as this is the way most kids learn about sex
.
