Recycle and reinvent your wardrobe
Recycle and reinvent your wardrobe like

If Kate Middleton and Keira Knightley can repeat clothes, why can't you? With these innovative ways, create a whole new wardrobe from recycled outfits

Next time you think of throwing away a pair of your old, ripped denims, think again. With a little creativity and a pair of scissors, you could transform them into a trendy jacket or even a shoulder bag. Or you could make a style statement by using your father's necktie as a sexy belt. Recycling outfits is en vogue thanks to Britain royalty Kate Middleton who is often spotted repeating her coats or celebrities like Keira Knightley who recently tied a knot in a dress she reportedly wore five years ago. So, we get fashion stylists to help you create a whole new wardrobe by recycling and reinventing outfits and accessories.

Dress it up

So what if you wore a plain white summer dress in the day? Layer the dress with a shirt. Tie its ends so it resembles a cropped jacket. Accessorise it with jewellery, stilettos and you are sure to rock that dress in the evening too. If you possess a tube LBD (little black dress) that you love to repeat, fold its hemline and turn it into a top. Team it up with high waisted pants for a completely new look. And if you are bored of wearing an A-line long skirt, turn it into a cool, summer dress and accessorise with a stylish belt.

Making a statement with jewellery

If you love ghungroos, it's time to experiment with them. Separate the small metallic bells and string them together with a wire. Sport them as a hip neckpiece. Meanwhile, if a stone studded neckpiece is your prized possession but has a stone missing, fret not. Fill the space with glue and paint it with a bright colour nail polish. Now, if that is not innovative, what is?

Play with colour

Clothes often tend to wear out or bleed colour after a few washes. Instead of shoving them into the back of your wardrobe or wearing them as nightwear, you can 'tie and dye' them for re-use. Knot a worn out tee and soak it in a bucket of hot water containing salt, vinegar and easily available colour dye. After a few hours, you will find the colour seep into the tee and that too in a distinct design created by the knots. Another option is to acid wash clothes until they are bleached white and then spray paint it in various hues.

Suit up

If your staple black suit is in good condition, you can definitely repeat it at work or formal dinners. Just change your bow tie and add a different coloured pocket square. You can also go as far as changing the suit lapels and experiment with satin, velvet or textured lapels
