Restaurant review: Isys (Multi-cuisine)
Restaurant review: Isys (Multi-cuisine)

Isys at the Hotel President, Jayanagar, dishes up a huge menu with Indian, Continental, Chinese and Thai options.

Decor
Blue, blue, my world is blue... goes the old classic song, and Isys lives up to the same, albeit in a happy mood. The ceiling is blue-lit and so is the floor, giving this cosy restaurant an astral feel.

Food
The Continental part of the menu sent us on a retro trip with dishes like Chicken Strogonoff, Pomfret Orly and Chicken Forestier, but we decided to save that for some other day. Lemon grass chicken tikka... why not? And it turned out to be a good choice, the enticing aroma complemented the kababs. Almost all restaurants in this area serve a vegetarian 'Kofta Sham Savera' and it's quite good here too. The Guntur Chicken should find favour with diners who like chillies. An unusual sounding Aurangabad Gosht turned out to be boneless mutton in a delicious methi and cashew gravy. Biryanis are immensely popular here and the kitchen can make quite a few different varieties. Caramel Custard and Shahi Tukra were our choices from the rather limited desserts menu. Lunch buffets are well-liked here and a spread of about 50 items is priced at `350 and `425 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Plus and minus
A huge menu with Continental, Indian, Thai and Chinese dishes can be a boon for those who want a choice and a negative for the picky diner. A reasonably priced menu is rare to come by these days and Isys scores easily.
