Started in 2009, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai is now garnering international recognition. National Geographic will feature the hospital on their show titled Inside, showcasing its science, high-tech tools, medical minds and non-stop drama. And Amitabh Bachchan is lending his rich baritone to the show, which will premiere on October 20 at 9pm.
Says Tina Ambani, the soul behind the hospital, "Mr Bachchan was there for our opening and it is an honour for us to have him do the narration." Despite the state-of-the-art hospital's many achievements, she continues to be hands-on with every operational aspect, driven by a dream to transform how India views healthcare.
"This hospital has been a labour of love and it wouldn't have been possible without such a committed team," she says, adding, "Indians deserve the best healthcare they can get. And we intend to provide it to them."
Anil had once referred to the hospital as Tina's 'third baby' and he wasn't kidding. For five years now, she has devoted herself to conceptualising, establishing and nurturing the hospital. She is now delighted to have the world watch how her 'baby' has grown.
