MUMBAI: Drug major Cipla made top-level executive changes on Monday, elevating its managing director MK Hamied as executive vice chairman. The company's global chief executive officer SubhanuSaxena, who took over the helm in February this year, has been designated as the managing director and global chief executive officer.
Hamied was reappointed for a fresh term as a whole-time director. The company's long serving chairman YK Hamied, had retired as MD with effect from March 31 this year.
"Subhanu Saxena has been designated as managing director and global chief executive officer and appointed as an additional director and MD of the company with effect from July 16, 2013," Cipla said in a filing to the BSE.
In other appointments, AshokSinha who has served the BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd) board for 15 years — first as director finance for 10 years, and then as its chairman and managing director, has been appointed as additional director on the board.
