During a promotional trip to Chandigarh, the two actors gave 'darshan' to the fans from the ledge of a highrise.
Reel life took a dangerously real turn for Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobara's lead pair Akshay Kumar and Imran Khan during a promotional trip to Chandigarh yesterday.
The two actors were literally on the 'edge' in an attempt to appease a restless mob of fans during a visit to an educational institute in the city. What was supposed to be a hush hush meet-and-greet became a security issue after word got out and a large crowd formed outside the building.
According to an eyewitness, thousands of fans had gathered around the premise to catch a glimpse of the Bollywood duo. They made it to the car after much jostling but the mob refused to make way for the vehicle.
"It was an interaction with the students in Sector-12. Soon the word got out that Imran and Akshay are in the building. They got down and sat in the car but the crowd had formed a huge barricade which made it difficult for them to leave the spot," said the source.
While they were both seated in the car waiting for a clearance, police arrived and tried to disperse the crowd but Akshay requested the police to not use force on the crowd.
Suddenly Akshay, who is well known for his daredevil attitude, came up with a mad cap plan to solve the problem. Though Imran was reluctant at first, he was eventually convinced.
"Akshay and Imran entered the building again and once they reached a higher floor they stepped on to a ledge outside a small window. They waved to the crowds and stood there for some 20 minutes. The fans went crazy and then Akshay spoke to them. He told them that he and Imran are getting late for their flight and requested them to allow them to make an exit," added the source
