KOCHI: Apollo Tyres Ltd registered a net profit of Rs 166 crorein the first quarter of fiscal 2013 - 2014, an increase of 19% in comparison with Rs 138 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Total income from operations rose to Rs 3,190 crore from Rs 3,165 crore in the comparable quarter of the previous fiscal. Total quarterly expenses were Rs 2,895 crore, lower than Rs 2,907 crore in the same quarter last year.

Segment-wise, the company's Indian operations topped other regions in revenue generation by fetching Rs 2,172 crore, followed by Europe delivering Rs 726 crore and South Africa earning Rs 391 crore in the first quarter.
