ROHTAK: The manufacturing sector's share in the national GDP which has stagnated at 15-16% since 1980 and pegged at 15.2% for 2012-13 financial year, is gradually declining.

The National Manufacturing Policy 2011 seeks to increase the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25% within a decade and create 100 million jobs. In this context, the changing dynamics of the Indian manufacturing sector — owing to a new generation of employees — warrant a complete review of the current HR policies.

The Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak (IIM-R) on Saturday organized the second human resource (HR) summit at its campus. The theme of the summit this year was 'HR challenges of managing new generation employees in the manufacturing industry'.
