Chennai Express crosses 125 cr; 200 cr target?

Shahrukh Khan is riding high on the box office reports of Chennai Express and the film touched a collection of Rs 124.54 cr on Tuesday.

Shahrukh, who is happy that his fans are entertained with Chennai Express is tasting success with the film.

Chennai Express hit over 3,500 screens in India and is running houseful. The film was made at a budget of apporx Rs.70 crore, earned Rs. 6.75 crore from Thursday previews in India and on opening day, Aug 9, Rs.33.12 crore. It became the fastest Rs100-crore earner in the history of Indian cinema.

Now with the new record SRK's Chennai Express has earned 124.54 cr. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#ChennaiExpress PP 6.75 cr, Fri 33.12 cr, Sat 28.05 cr, Sun 32.50 cr, Mon 12.62 cr, Tue 11.50 cr. Total 124.54 cr."

It seems that SRK's Chennai Express is running fast to achieve 200 cr. With tomorrow being (15th August) Independence day and a public holiday and the film expected to go strong over the coming weekend too, will it be able to break the record?
