Movers and shakers from showbiz think the best way to stay connected to their fans worldwide is by posting photos, videos and status updates on microblogging sites first before they hit the print/televisi
on.

Hrithik Roshan A status update on a social networking site before a brain surgery? Well, that's what Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan did just to reassure his million fans. Hrithik Roshan, who recently underwent a brain surgery, reached out to his fans via social networking platforms to tell that he's "okay"and "fantastic".

Hrithik made the okay sign using the fingers of his left hand from the hospital bed. A medical tube on his hand is visible in the photograph he posted on social media. The 39-year-old star posted a message for his fans on the social networking site: "What's up! Hope everyone's making the best of their day! I'm horizontal but controlling and creating my environment to the best of my ability... That's all we ever need to do."

"Leaving you with this thought — Everything can be taken away from you but one thing. The freedom of knowing one can choose their attitude in any given environment...Invent your own way! Love...supersonic style," he added.

Priyanka Chopra The 'exotic' star rocks in the virtual world. From sharing her grief over her father's death with fans to her just released Exotic music video with international singer Pitbull, she shares her world. With a staggering number of 4,359,015 followers, Priyanka gives regular updates about what's happenings in her life. From pictures of her enjoying the rains or an exotic spread with a tweet and a pic (San Diego bound.. Pit stop for the #exotic bus!!! Yummmm! ), her fans gets to have a dekko at her rocking world.

Justin Bieber The 'baby' singer just loves the limelight. Teenage sensation, chart topper Justin Bieber celebrated Instagram's new video feature by stripping off in a special fan message. Justin was probably more excited than people who created this app and obviously decided to go ahead with some topless self-shoot footage of him sending 'virtual' shockwaves. In his excitement, the international pop sensation just could mutter one word. But his fans lapped up his video.

Amitabh Bachchan He's the trendsetter be it real/reel/virtual world. With 24,605 tweets and 5,863,051 followers, he can easily be termed as the 'superstar' of the virtual world. From tweeting about his film/tv projects, pressing social and political issues to cricket and sharing his schedule, he's very much at it. That's not it, his blogs are much talked about and followed too. Articulation of thoughts comes naturally to him. No wonder he strikes a chord with his virtual family.

Madonna Material girl Madonna still rocks and can give the younger generation a run for their money. The pop queen joined the video action by posting her own sassy one. Decked in her workout gear, Madonna shook her backside while chanting, "booty pop, booty pop".The video which is just for 15 seconds did 'shake' her fans. But then that's the diva for you. Madonna captioned the post: "Hard candy booty pop up class! Getting ready in the bathroom! NY here I come!"

Kim Kardashian She knows how to stay in the news. Last year Kim Kardashian bought Kanye West a rare $750,000 black Lamborghini Aventador as a B'day gift. This year it was a collage on Instagram. Kim shared 'Oh so happy to be together' collage of the couple on the social network. Kim, who's there on Twitter, had to call out a cameraman who reportedly sneaked into her family's gated community to take some coveted pictures. There have been suggestions that Kanye, prefers her to be more private (which must be difficult for this reality star who thrives on publicity).

Rihana The Love The Way You Lie girl has lots of 'virtual' drama. Rihanna showed the scars of her 'spilt' from Chris Brown when she lashed out at him after he tweeted she would be on his new album, X. She slammed Chris when she posted Twitter and Instagram disses. Post Chris' tweet, Rihanna responded with the Instagram message, "B****h you will die, be born again, die again and be born again before I do a song with you b****h," and the tweet, "P**k O.utta H.ere B***ih!!!
