Jaguar Land Rover, a unit of India's largest automobile company Tata Motors Ltd, will recall 11,852 vehicles in China over possible engine and oil leakage problems, China's quality watchdog said.

China is the world's biggest auto market and is expected to overtake the United States for high-end producers like Jaguar Land Rover with sales of 2.7 million luxury vehicles annually by 2020.

Tuesday's announcement came a week after the China joint venture of BMW, the German luxury auto brand, said it would recall 143,215 vehicles in the country.
