Shruti Hassan beats Asin to bag ‘Welcome Back’

Shruti Hassan is on a high! The pretty actress, who was lauded for her performance in both 'D-Day' and 'Ramaiya Vastavaiya', has been roped in to play female lead in 'Welcome Back'. The actress will be paired opposite handsome John Abraham. She had beaten Asin to bag this coveted role. 

Initially makers were keen to cast Sonakshi Sinha as their lead actress. The actress could not take up the project due to date problems. Then the filmmakers thought of casting Asin. However, it was after watching D-Day andRamaiya Vastavaiya that they thought of opting for Shruti as she fitted the role better. 

Will Shruti be able to do justice to the role?
