Wear the right makeup during monsoon
Wear the right makeup during monsoon

A heavy downpour can completely mess up your look. Here's how to look drop dead gorgeous even while it's pouring outside.

Ditch the foundation
Applying foundation during the rains is a complete no-no. The humidity makes your face sweaty and as a result, you end up with the foundation dripping from your face. If you have dry skin, apply a concealer and dab some compact on your face. For those with oily skin, you can just apply a compact powder and you are good to go. Loose mineral powders are good for your face too during the monsoon. They restrict your face from perspiring too much, thereby making your makeup last longer.

Use subtle eye shadow
The trick to look gorgeous during this season is to choose an eye shadow that will make you look natural and not all made-up. Subtle hues like beige, brown and pink work the best during monsoon. These colours make your face look brighter as compared to darker colours. Use powdered eye shadows instead of cream-based ones. This will also keep the eye shadow from melting off your face.

Settle down with a long-lasting range
While choosing lipsticks, make sure you pick the ones that are long-lasting. Matte lipsticks are the perfect choice during monsoons. Avoid using gloss-based lipsticks as they tend to get sticky and smudge easily. To make your lipstick last longer, use a lip balm before you apply the colour. Then make a neat lining of the lips with the help of a lip pencil and fill it up with the colour you want. Remember that bright colours are in. From various neon shades like bright orange, fuchsia pink, etc., to bolder colours like purple and dark brown — you have plenty at your disposal. Hot pinks, corals and ruby reds work best with every outfit.

Bright blush for your face
Apart from choosing bright colours for your lips, you can also apply a bright blush on your face. Use cream-based blushers instead of powdered ones. Your mantra should be to use as little blush as you can. Just dab a small amount on your cheeks and blend it well. While applying blush on your cheeks, blend it outwards to make it look natural.

Gel liners work the best
The last thing you want on a rainy day is to get to work with smudged eye makeup. Swap your liquid eyeliners with gel-based ones to make them last longer. These eyeliners are water-proof and easily last up to nine hours. Also, do not apply mascara during this season unless it is extremely necessary, as it tends to get sticky
