Amitabh Bachchan
On his 71st birthday yesterday, Amitabh Bachchan announced his decision to light up rural villages that have no electricity.
The actor said, "There is a trust in my father's name — Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Trust. The funds we collect are used for a charitable cause. This time, along with the Urja Foundation — another charitable organisation — we will provide electricity to 3000 homes in small villages across India. The electricity will be provided through solar energy."
Big B was to work as usual yesterday, but his shooting schedule was disrupted due to a glitch.
He was, however, quite happy as he revealed how daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had taught his granddaughter Aaradhya to sing happy birthday to him.
