NEW DELHI: Hospitality major ITDC has rolled out the red carpet literally. Eleven hotels run by it are running in losses to the tune of over Rs 83 crore in the last three years. The loss-making units are led by the Ashok in Delhi, Janpath hotel and Lalitha Mahal Palace hotel in Mysore.
While Ashok hotel in Delhi has notched losses of Rs 30.65 crore between 2010 and June 2013, Janpath has reported losses of Rs 20.68 crore during the same period. The Lalitha Mahal Palace hotel has run up losses of Rs 20.34 crore, while the Ashok in Jaipur and Jammu have reported losses of Rs 10.74 crore and Rs 4 crore, respectively.
Joint venture hotels like Brahmaputra Ashok in Guwahati, Hotel Ranchi Ashok and Pondicherry Ashok too have shown declines.
