Starting with CVD, most symptoms of a cardiac disorder in a woman is different from that of a man, and so are the preventive measures and diagnostics. With extensive preventive health care facilities available, a women should not shy away from using such methods to detect, diagnose and prevent a possible health risk.

Assess the situation
What is the extent of the damage? What would be the next best step to take? It is essential to know details for damage control and effective prevention. So, schedule a checkup to have your blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels checked, and ask your doctor to help you reach or maintain a healthy weight. Be sure to follow your healthcare professional's recommendations, including taking prescribed medications as directed.

Get active, stay active
Your body was designed for activities so indulge in them. Make it fun so it's not laborious and tedious. Step, march or jog in place for at least 15 minutes a day while watching your favourite TV shows. Dance or play a sport of your choice without causing much stress to yourself or your body.

Drink more water

While an argument can be made on alcohol being good for your heart, it is often the unrestrained copious amounts that cause trouble. Alcohol dependency must be cured and you must give up nicotine completely, in order to have a healthy heart.

Sleep tight
Make sure that you sleep for 7-8 hours at night. However, one should not sleep for more than 9 hours.

Stay positive
Don't let stress get the best of you, to be happy you need to focus on happiness itself, so try to get rid of stressful factors in your life and welcome positive changes.
