Ranbir Kapoor in Besharam
Ranbir Kapoor ditched designer wear for a much cheaper outfit for a poster image of 'Besharam'.
The reason: He wanted to stay true to his character, which is that of a tapori. In the poster, Ranbir is seen sporting a yellow T-shirt and a multi-coloured jacket, which apparently cost only `1,000. Says director Abhinav Kashyap, "Ranbir's austerity and dedication moved me, because it is so unlike a star to do that. Whenever I tease him about this, he says that he is an actor and not a star."
The director adds, "Ranbir is a delight to work with. He has given his all to the role — be it growing hair on his chest or changing the way he walks. He closely observed the look that Amitabh Bachchan sported in the 70s and has tried to duplicate it."
Besharam, produced by Reliance Entertainment, releases on October 2
