Sunidhi Chauhan
It is every artiste's dream to perform live at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London. And, keeping that in mind, singer Sunidhi Chauhan concluded her UK tour with an enthralling performance there.
Speaking about it, the singer said, "The tour was to celebrate 100 years of cinema and the response, especially at the Royal Albert Hall, was overwhelming. I sang some golden oldies like Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko (Yaadon Ki Baaraat, 1973), Baahon Mein Chale Aao (Anamika, 1973) and Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein (Kabhi Kabhie, 1976)... the audience was reliving all those moments.
The crowds, apparently, went wild when she started singing some of her upbeat songs. Recalling an incident, Chauhan revealed, "One male fan actually came up on stage to shake a leg with me on the Dance Pe Chance (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, 2008) track. This happened on the spur of the moment and added to our high spirits." Another highlight was her rendition of international pop singer Beyonce's Halo. "She asked the audience for permission to sing an English song. They were pleasantly surprised to hear her sing it so well," said a source present at the concert.
The only artiste accompanying Sunidhi was an ex-reality show contestant Rakesh Maini, who sang some famous Mohammed Rafi tracks among others. Sunidhi concluded the show by singing her popular Beedi Jalaile (Omkara, 2006). "The spunky number was just the right track for the climax because they all demanded an encore," she said.
