Kareena, Sonam ditch their dupattas

Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are oh-so-chic with their layered outfits, short jackets, anarkalis and structured ensembles, sans a dupatta. Until even a few years ago, the long dupatta was a must-have accessory when going desi; when you wore a 'suit', you automatically had to wear a dupatta with it. 

But, with fashion fusing East with the West, this accessory morphed into a semi-long scarf, then a stole and now, the look is more contemporary with flowing gown-like kurtas and heavily sequinned borders that hold the outfit together. Is the classic dupatta going to ease out of style? We doubt it. Meanwhile, these elegant looks cut it just as well.
